We stopped at the Moosewood Cafe for lunch when we were passing through Ithaca a couple of days ago. I was surprised how tasty everything was - simple dishes, but very well seasoned, so that when you first bite into them you're a little surprised (well, we were anyway). Prices were very reasonable, too. I had particularly wanted to stop there (I have one of their cookbooks) & I wasn't disappointed. Also got a great piece of pumpkin pie for the road.

  1. I have always loved Moosewood, even in their more hardcore days when everything was a kind of ecru colored mush. I love the democracy with which they approach their restaurant, which, in light of the recent postings about Bouley Bakery, IMO we sorely need more of in the restaurant biz.
