Soft shell crabs at Johnny's in City Island

A request for soft shell crab recommendations in Manhattan, and the suggestion of NY Noodletown, reminded me that we much preferred the soft shells at Johnny's Famous Reef restaurant this year. Smaller than NY Noodletown, deep fried, and cooked right through - depends on your preference; I like all crunchy, some people apparently like a liquidy center.

The price is great: $11 for six crabs, with a heap of fries, coleslaw, lemons, and bottomless sauces. Everything here is cheap - I would steer away from the fried fish and toward the fried, steamed or raw seafood.

    Cool, thanks.

The article below has good info on how to get there via public transit. Courtesy of a Boston newspaper, no less.
