Duffy's Tavern on Forest Ave. across from the Staaten Catering Hall is the hands down winner here. Served on a toasted english muffin, this half pound of fresh ground beef is best served with cheddar cheese and accompanied by the seasoned criss cut or sweet potato fries. If you're really hungry, you have to start with the crab claw cocktail. The place actually bills itself as having the Best Burger on Staten Island on it's awning. An understatement if I don't say so myself.
I'm glad I decided to peruse the site tonight and see your inquiry. I wouldn't expect the smug, noodle and ketchup eating, midwestern transplants on this site to acknowledge Staten Island for anything outside of Killmeyers or New Asha anyway.

        1. In the Bronx, definitely Coals. It's only served in the evening.

          1. I recommend Coals restaurant. The burgers are outstanding. It's located on Eastchester Road in the Bronx.

beware, Coals is closed on the weekend.

            2. I'm not a burger person but on Staten Island, I'd have to say Andrew's Diner on Hylan Blvd in Great Kills apparently has very good burgers. It's not really a Diner in the traditional sense. All their food is fresh and delicious. Big portions, fresh food AND good service are always a winning combination. I have overheard many people mention that their burgers are absolutely scrumptious. I'll be interested to see if anyone else posts a Staten Island burger recc.
