and across the street is

Oriental Pastry &amp; Groceries
718 875 7687
170 Atlantic
(similar to Sahadi's, but much less crowded, less selection, not as many "fine" goods. But, the olives. THE OLIVES!

I also really dig:

Pacific Green
http://www.go-brooklyn.com/html/issues/_vol24/24_31/pacific.html
718 852 9384
151 Court

Nice, tiny gourmet market. REALLY nice produce.

Hope this helps! I'll be following this thread quite closely myself!</content>

<content>If you're looking for traditional, there's KEY FOOD on Clinton &amp; Atlantic or the one on Montague &amp; Henry. I'm hesitant to recommend PATHMARK underneath the Atlantic Center - it's zoo-y...nor the GRISTEDE'S on Henry &amp; Clark - pricey.

Does it have to be walking distance? If not and you can wait, there'll be a FAIRWAY arriving in Red Hook in a matter of weeks.</content>

<content> Key Food on Montague Street is not the prettiest place in town, but the prices are the lowest.

I would caution against buying meat or fish. from any supermarket. Never at Key Food or Gristedes.

There are 2 excellent butchers, STAUBITZ on Court Street and HEIGHTS PRIME MEATS on Clark Street. Great fish store FISH TALES on Court Street.

The produce at Garden of Eden is very good, but my favorite, and much less expensive is the Korean Market a few doors down from SAHADIS.
