Hey C'hounds..

I have a 5pm flight from JFK and my goal today is to eat a great meal on my way there. I'm starting at home in Boerum Hill around noon, giving myself 5hrs to take trains and busses to get to the airport, so I probably have time to eat anywhere besides Flushing.

I have almost no knowledge of Queens (besides Mina and Sripriphai) and would love to eat some great food.

Thanks!

F train to Bay Parkway, B6 (Bay Parkway/McDonald Ave) to East 15th St/Ave J, DiFara's, pizza, B6 to New Lots Ave/Ashford St, B15 (New Lots Ave/Ashford St) to JFK.

If you choose this itinerary, I suggest you leave immediately.

Good suggestion, as the wait at DiFara's will just about equal the transit time.

Or you might open up the pizza box atop your suitcase on the B6 - saving a few slices for the "no airplane food" era ride...with any luck, your flight attendant could reheat them in first class.

For some reason the moderator removed my serious suggestions, but left my ridiculous one (to DiFara's/JFK via 1 subway and 2 long bus rides!).

Anyway, without going out of your way, you will or could pass close to:

Peter Luger's (B61 to Luger's, then J/Z to AirTrain)
Zabb (Roosevelt Avenue/69 St)
Jackson Heights Indian places (Roosevelt Ave/Broadway)
Tangra Masala (Grand Ave/Queens Blvd)
Ben's Best Deli (63/Queens Blvd)
Nick's (Ascan Ave)
Dee's (Metropolitan Ave)

Enjoy!

thank you for the suggestions (and directions). I opted for the easy choice of Luger's - I snagged the only barstool for my med-rare bacon cheeseburger and it was perfect.
