We are going to the NY Botanical Gardens during next week and want to be able to have a great lunch afterward. I am not familiar with the Bronx at all and would love to take this opportunity to explore the culinary offerings. Prefer Indian or Korean food but ANY great food recs would be appreciated.

Unfortunately the Bronx lacks any good Korean or Indian restaurants...however what it does have extremely close to the botanical gardens is Arthur Avenue..which is a little overhyped but does has some decent american-italian food, and had great fresh bakeries and cheese stores...

there's actually a great indian restaurant called cumin in riverdale on johnson ave. it's reasonably priced and the food is very good. unfortunately, it's not in the immediate proximity to the botanical gardens, about a 20 (30?) min drive.

Arthur Avenue is near the Botanical Garden and definitely worth a visit. Stroll around, see the big market (photo below), grab some great food. I used to go to Dominick's years ago, which in my view was more about atmosphere than food, though the food was quite good (buckets of red sauce!) A lot of people say good things about Roberto's, though I've never been. Link to Village Voice review below (I think they have moved since the review was written, so the address is no longer valid)
