Try one of the Howard Beach places mentioned in the thread below. The places further north on Woodhaven Blvd will be a longer ride.

Best I could come up with is a bar and pizza from the place next door. See the link below. Maybe not what you want. But it worked for me. And it sure is convenient.
The main drag, Cross Bay Parkway, is a few blocks West. It's big and ugly and strip-mall like, but there are some storefront restaurants. But I don't know of any one in particular.
Are there are some good Caribbean places in Jamaica, also accessible by Air Train.›3 Replies-

SOrry to report that there aren't any really great restaurants near JFK. They are all IMO pedestrian at best. Cross Bay Blvd. has a few places; Villa Roma, Matteos, and London Lennies, which is good seafood. However, if you go you may need to get there and be prepared to wait depending on the time of day. LL has been reviewed on this site. Also up Woodhaven Blvd. is Abbraciementos, which has really good Italian. Otherwise Howard Beach doesn't offer a plethora of choices. There is also Don Peppes near Aqueduct. Not great, over hyped.

re: GB
I was at London Lennies on Sunday, and while it was not terrible, I don't have much good to say about the place. No reservations for parties under 8, and it was very noisy and crowded. Steamers and baked clams were passable, n.e. chowder was terrible. Slaw was good, crab cakes were not. Key lime pie was strange and tasted "cheesy". My family was unimpressed with the fish and chips, linguini with white clam sauce and steamed lobster. This place is very far cry from even the middle tier fish places in Manhattan.

The Lindenwood Diner, on Linden Blvd. just south of Conduit, is my go-to place near JFK. Good diner food plus Caribbean items as well. Friendly, spiffy-looking place that also has wi-fi.
