Spain, Staten Island

There was a restaurant in Staten Island many years ago called Spain. Does it still exist? If so, is it any good? Does anyone know of a GOOD Spanish restaurant in NYC?

    Entering -

    spain "staten island"

into Google produced the link below. They're still open.

Staten Island restaurants rarely appear on Chowhound. That doesn't mean that Spain isn't good, just that no one ever posts about it.

You can also check out Citysearch.com and search by cuisine. Their Spanish listings can be found here -

If it's run by the same Spain owners as the Newark "Spain", is actually a contracted name for "Stomach pain."

Can't say I've ever been to the Staten Island one.

Hi! Went last year after prior visits and was disappointed with their food. Seems to have lost it's original zest. Highly recommend Riozor Spanish restaurant which is on 16th St., between 7th & 8th Ave. in Manhattan. Our family has been going there for years and always enjoy their fare.

It still exists and it is terrible.
The only good Spanish food on Staten Island is Real Madrid.
Carmen's has a much better atmosphere, with its view of the sea, but Real Madrid's food is better.
P.S. it is pronounced "Ray-AL Madrid"
