Is Harmony 2 as good ad Harmony. I'm not a big fan of Romanian food but my husband is and he likes Harmony. Harmony is closed for 2 weeks so we will go to the smaller sister restaurant for his birthday. Any opinions. Does H2 have a full bar or just wine and beer?

Thanks

My husband and I like to go to Harmony 2, because it is so much smaller and quieter than Harmony.

I think the food is pretty much the same at both places -- we like to get a glass of Riesling, a few appetizers, and either stuffed cabbage or grilled fish. The chicken soup is delicious, too. The waitresses are very accommodating, so hopefully you'll find something you like! I'm not sure if they serve more than wine, however.

If you're looking for more of a "party" atmosphere with full bar, you should check out another Romanian place located on 43rd St. just south of Greenpoint Ave. It's called Tricolori or something like that.

And exactly where is Harmony 2? Do you think it might be related to the original Harmony and/or Cornell's Garden?

Yes, they are all related. Harmony 2 is located on 41st St., just off Greenpoint Ave. Enjoy!

Thanks Jenny. We went over the weekend and it was great. Not a big fan of Tricolorii. The food isn't as good.

Which Harmony are you speaking of? The Harmony I know, on Queens Blvd., c. 38th St. has been closed for well over a year now, I believe. That sign has been in the window ever since, saying they are on vacation -- yes, a permanent vacation and I would bet they will never open their doors again.

I know that Tangra Masala in Elmhurst was considering taking that space and opening a larger restaurant there, but they ran into some serious legal issues with the owners of Harmony and so backed out. Our loss in Sunnyside.

Is there a shadow of this Harmony (called Harmony 2) that has been resuscitated and if so, where is it? Just curious. The original Cornel's Garden, before they moved and became Harmony, was quite a decent restaurant.

Hi Mike,

Indeed Harmony and Harmony 2 are owned by Cornel of Cornel's Romanian Garden. The Romanian Garden still stands but without Cornel. Harmony is on Queens Blvd and 39th Pl (and has been open and running for some time now), and Harmony 2 is on 41st st and Greenpoint. We went over the weekend and it was very good. Some had the trout which was delicious and the mititei was also awsome.
