Anything you choose is by far the greatest pastry experience around. Everything at Artopolis is excellent. Try the spoon sweets in the LARGE jars, try the mille-feuille and all the traditional Greek pastries, and the modern adaptations are to die for. Try the bread!

If it LOOKS good, it IS!

I no longer shop at the other bakeries in Astoria like Victory on Steinway (traditional, not modern - and still very good!).

The prices are high at Artopolis, but that's because of the high quality!

At new years try the "special" vasilopita. It is just like my mom made!

Vasilopita is an ancient traditional Greek bread, slightly sweet, made for New Years for good luck. It is baked with a coin or, sometimes, and almond inside and the person who get the slice with the almond will “have good luck for the new year".

Many bakeries just sell a tsoureki, the Greek Challa bread. Some make something just s simple and boring. NOT ARTOPOLIS! He makes his with the finest ingredients and has the same taste exactly as my MOMS!

I do not believe he makes it available year round, but you can ask. They are SUPER friendly

I picked up some Baklava from them and i have to say it is the best i have ever had. The honey that they use is perfect and not cloyingly sweet. The phillo dough was the top notch.
I also bought a chocolate mousse cake which was very good. It had a nice dark choclolate bitterness to it and wasn't overly sweet like most other places' versions.
We also got a box full of assorted cookies which had a bunch of winners, a sesame crusted wafer like cookie being the highlight. I also really enjoyed the toffee with shaved almonds and white chocolate.
Thanks for the recomendation, It was a little expensive but it was well worth the drive out from the bronx.
