    1. can you add a little detail...

which rolls, how was the sashimi, fish freshness, price point?

It's a pretty good place, not amazing, but pretty good. Decent price point (though not as "Brooklyn"-priced as you may think) and the sushi is far more than serviceable.

I just moved into the neighborhood and grabbed a menu from One Greene Sushi yesterday and it seemed a little pricy for brooklyn, though they had some nice jazz going on on the soundsystem. It is literally a block from me, so I am sure we will try it out, but Geido seems cheaper.

I went there with my boyfriend it is Adelphi & Dekalb. The standard rolls are pretty cheap about 5-6 bucks...the fancier/specialty rolls were about 9 bucks each and were SOOOOOOO GOOD! Try the dynamite! It is BYOB and we brought a nice bottle of sake with us, so for some great sushi the bill was totally reasonable...

BYOB you say. Well that just changed the game.

                      Thanks for the info.

Until they get their liquor license, that's how it will be. But it's no reason not to check them out. And most of the bodegas around there carry Japanese beers.

Sushi D is 10 times better than that place on Fulton, but don't insult it by making a comparison to Geido. That place is special and there are few places that can top the food. Can't say the sushi is as good as Geido because Osamu, the chef at Geido, makes the experience great; but Sushi D is close. Great value for the price.

Its a nice change from the Gazillion French joints opening up in Fort Greene.

Pardon the interruption for a quick request: we ask users not to frequently change subject titles. Doing so screws up the many chowhounds who read these boards via HotPosts (check it out, it's great, via link atop our home page), which are unthreaded.

It is OK to change the title if the discussion has substantially digressed. For example if the thread started with a question about where to find good pizza downtown and the discussion morphed into a discussion of Thai food, that's a good place to change the subject line.

What we want to avoid is subject changes like "I agree!" or, "Try the fish on Wednesdays", which really confuses many of our users who use HotPosts.

                              Thanks a lot!

                                sooooo good!

                                super nice and delicious.

                            • Where on Dekalb is it located?

                                1. re: DeeDee

At Adelphi, I believe, on the corner. Do they have their liquor/beer&wine license yet? I went once and had the delicious sushi & sashimi combo for two, there was more than enough for the two of us and a nice variety, fresh, not too pricey. But I missed hot sake...

                                    1. re: peasplease

If you actually missed hot sake, then, please, the next time you go to a sushi place, order a decent bottle/glass of cold sake - the main reason places serve sake hot is because they're masking the awfulness of it . . . switching from my days of hot sake to good cold sake was a revelation.
