Nice, giant space. Beautiful designer wallpaper, old oak bar and tile floors. No food. Order the Bramble, seems to be their best drink. I've been some nights and heard some outstanding DJs. Other nights, they do comedy, film nights, etc. A great space for a party, no doubt, but maybe not a regular haunt. At the end of the day, its just another bar, but one of my top five W'berg faves. (Pete's Candy Store, Matchless, Enid's, and the Ale House are all goodies)

I do know that when the place was going up, owner Ben had real plans to serve bar foods at Royal Oak... But the only food I've had there over several visits has been the the blackberry in my bramble, delish.

Really, the glittery throngs of young folk that congregate at RO do not strike me as much of an eating crowd, if you gather.

When and if you're hungering you can usually get an _okay_ grilled sandwich at Pete's Candy nearby. And I also like the avocado reuben at the spotty Union Picnic, in the same stretch of North Williamsburg.

Enid's also serves food but I don't know much about it.
