Jolie -- Atlantic Avenue
I noticed that a new awning has gone up at the old Brooklyn Grill space on Atlantic Avenue. The sign says "Jolie restaurant". Does anyone know any more details?

I don't have a good answer for you, but I also noticed it today as I walked by. The doors were open and there were obvious signs of construction activity, but it didn't look to me like a restaurant was being built -- more like office space. But who knows. Whatever it's becoming, it didn't look too close to completion.

The owners of the building told me the new place was to be "asian", but that doesn't sound like "Jolie" does it?.....

New York magazine has some info. on it. see link below.
To paraphrase, they say it will have a wine list with lots of biodynamic bottles and a verandah that will be enclosed at some point soon. The menu will be mostly Gallic classics such as steak tartare, oxtail terrine, and chestnut mont blanc. Partners are Michel Pombet (formerly chef at Demarchelier) and a former Union Pacific manager Benjamin Tretout.
