Holy Moly! Incredible pizza. Unlike DiFara, wafer thin crust and stands up with the right amount of sauce and cheese. I am so glad I did a little research last night before taking my wife to a doctor's appt. nearby. Brought home two pies, plain and pepperoni, and between lunch and dinner consumed six slices. And I still wanted to have more! If I had the munchies, I do not know what would of happened. I'm thinking it's definitely worth the Bayonne Bridge toll just to go to SI for pizza from now on!

Joe and Pats have always been excellent. When I was a little girl many moons ago, my mom used to take me there after Brownies. I'm glad to hear that they are still terrific.

There was also another place not too far away called the Roadhouse on Clove Rd a few blocks off Victory Blvd. They were also quite good. I haven't been there in years, so I don't know if they're still top quality.

Call me spoiled though, when we moved back to Brooklyn I used to live in walking distance (about 1.5 miles just enough to walk off the calories :D) from Totonno's AND L & B Spumoni Gardens.

I remember the Road House - Is it still there? I live in Maryland now.

I used to eat and drink there about twenty years ago when I was in college. I always liked their lasagna and they had great appetizers (Bar Food).

Brings back memories - Thanks.

Unfortunately, the great Roadhouse we all remember (and I knew it when it was the Buddy Buddy Club!)is no more. They expanded to about double the size and the food now reeks. The pizza borders on inedible and the other dishes taste like they're straight from the freezer. I miss my garlic pie...

Joe and Pat's is wonderful - did you see the write up in the New Yorker? I've been going there since I was about, well, born!

Roadhouse is still there, but they have recently upscaled it a bit and expanded.

Now you have to try Surf Club pizza on Fr. Cappadonna Blvd. I salivate at the thought!

Worth the bridge toll?!? If you're already in Bayonne, go no farther than Pompei's, Broadway and 22nd. I have friends who drive from all over just to get a whiff of their slices.

Hmmm ok joe and pats never did much for me, thought is was rather blah, but to each his own. a hidden gem is Lee's Tavern at 60 Hancock st. Right near the train station. Local bar havy on sports but without the smaltz. The bar pies kick serious butt. lots of variations my fave is the chicken and jalapeno peppers. not much better way to spend a afternoon with friends than barpies and a couple of pitchers.mmmmmmmm

Joe & Pat's still makes great thin slice pie...the best ever, its addictive. You truly cannot eat just one slice. Years ago Totonnos was great, their son in law opened one in Manhattan now.
L&Bs is best for Sicilian or thick slice pie. But dont forget DiNinos in Staten Island also...

RoadHouse is new bigger and yes NOT better, however its one of the few places you can get a bar sized "clam pie" lots of clams, garlic and parsley, very little cheese if any. The best.
