Romanian Garden (formerly Corelli's) on Skillman off of 45th in Sunnyside makes amazing (i always spell it wrong) papanasi - a romanian dessert that is essentially a fresh doughnut with jelly and yogurt - among the most amazing things i've ever had!

There is nothing that distinguishes jelly donuts for chanukah from regular jelly donuts, so why not go to your favorite local source of jelly donuts? If you are looking for something special, I can remember people on this board raving about jelly donuts from a place in Astoria, but I don't remember more -- you'll have to try a search.

If you need donuts that are certified kosher, most every Jewish bakery is making sufganiyot this time of year, but I have yet to find any that aren't heavy belly-bombers (+ their choices are usually limited to raspberry and custard). A number of Krispy Kreme and Dunkin Donut retail outlets actually have kosher certification.
