Pearson's is generally regarded as one of the best BBQ places in New York (a weak category for the city, I admit). It gets bad remarks relative to what it was when in Long Island City. (Memories of the smell and small, white building with cords of wood outside still make me hungry.) It's not awesome, but when you've got the urge either go to Pearson's or pack a bag and head south. I stick to the brisket normally, because my three years in Virginia taught me what pulled pork should taste like and because Pearson's is supposed to be Texas BBQ. Will definitely be back for more to-go (by the pound, for lunches). The brisket was dry-ish but tasty. I have to say, I've heard good things about the onion rings on this board -- but they were ridiculously greasy! Made to order, sure -- but just about as greasy as food can get. Carnival food!
