Although there are a few good ones, my wife and I enjoy Hope and Anchor diner in Red Hook. Brunch is great - egg specials are our favorite (change every week). Breakfast and lunch are standard diner fare, inexpensive with interesting salads and sandwiches. The dinner menu is more diverse with pork mole, lemon braised chicken, and swiss chard canneloni. It's really a place you can go again and again, good variety. They also have Keroke(Sp?) on Fri. and Sat. nights hosted for a drag queen. We bring our kids (sometimes) and there is plenty for them to chose from.

I really like Mike's in Ft. Greene/Clinton Hill area. It's on Dekalb Avenue and St. James, right across from Pratt University. They are fairly crowded on the weekends though and it's not an all night diner. Still, they have probably the best french toast i've ever tasted at a diner. If anyone goes definetly work that into the order.
