I returned to Rose Water after a couple of years. I had enjoyed the food the last time I had been there (had a good oxtail dish) and recommended to some friends that we give it a shot even though I had read the food was inconsistent. The host/owner is a very nice man and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. However, 2 of us ordered the rabbit on a bed of risotto. As soon as I saw the dish I could tell visually that it was cold. The rabbit was cold the plates were cold and the risotto was barley warm. When you charge $17.50 for a dish this is inexcusable. There are certain kinds of mistakes that are due to not caring, when the waiter picked up the dish it had to have been apparent that it had been sitting out too long. The reason I did not immediately return the dish was that I was with a group of people and did not want to have a staggered eating situation. I will not return again. Does anyone know was there a change in the chef? Or is something else amiss?

The Rose Water riddle continues. Type Rose Water into your browser's search function, and you'll see that this is one of the most maddeningly inconsistent restaurants discussed in the OB boards.
As far as I know, there's been no change in chefs.

I've had a similar experience. Last time there with my wife, two entrees arrived at the same time, one of which was way undercooked. Don't like my chicken sushi style and didn't want to hold everything while it was sent back. What to do?

The guy who runs the place, is indeed a very nice guy. He needs to start checking every dish coming out of the kitchen.
