the dumpling shack in flushing on 40th road, three store fronts in from main st, was closed today. the wall between the two sides had been ripped out, along with the counter, oven, etc. i didn't see any signs describing whether this is a refurbishing or change.

late last year, i had some excellent boiled dumplings ~10 stores down the street at Yang Tze River Restaurant, 135-21 40th Rd. they make the dumplings in the front of the restaurant (see the link below). i would say that i liked them better, but, then again, the shack is "the shack".

What a loss. I enjoyed many a fine lunch at the Shack. What incredible dumplings. I would order 16 for $3.00 and have a feast. Just doesn't seem fair. I had planned to visit this week. I'm devastated.

i know what you mean. i'd only been there once, and only because i'd read about it on here. well, i guess it's better than never trying it...

i'm going to ask my dad to find out what's going on. (he works at a company that lends money to flushing restaurants).

will keep ya posted!
