I couldn't agree more. The croissants are pretty much the best I've ever found in the city, let alone Brooklyn. And it's a good source for some delicatessen stuff like boudin and decent (trois petits cochons) pâtés, etc. that can be hard to track down in Brooklyn.

I like their cheese selection too and had a nice July 4 cake (blueberries and strawberries and cream) last year. But I think they need to fix their A/C!

I've been worshiping at the altar of Delices since it opened more than a year ago. Nearly everything there is fabulous. They have the best coffee (both hot and iced) and the pastry is phenomenal, especially the almond croissant and the cakes. I also love the traditional french cookies. One nice touch: Instead of writing "happy birthday" directly onto the cake, they write the message on the most delicious piece of marzipan and attach it to the top of the cake!

Heh, I have a funny story about that. I ordered a small cake from Delices de Paris for my colleague Hans's 40th birthday. There wasn't much room for an inscription, so I dictated "Hans:Quarante." The French-speaking assistant had no idea what I was talking about, so I wrote it out. He corrected my spelling to "Quarente." This didn't seem right, but I was reluctant to argue with a francophone on the subject. When I picked up the cake, it was correctly spelled "Quarante"!

Last August, I(Greek American),married a Frenchie. I found Delices De Paris when we moved here recently and I orderd 200 eclairs for our wedding and baklava from Astoria.

My husband was so happy with the eclairs and the price (cheaper than Payards in Manhattan, which is quite amazing). The custard- 2 flavors was soo creamy and the flavor lingered on and yes, this place is perfect! The croissants are just like in France and the people there were extremely helpful and pleasant to deal with.

They even delivered the eclairs to Manhattan- no charge!

There is a new bakery expected to open in 1 or 2 weeks on fifth near bergen, next door to me- don't know if its a German bakeryor French , but I will still go to Delices. I don't think there are many bakeries in p.Slope- there is an Italian one on 7th that is very mediocre
