Regarding the discussion below, is there ANYWHERE in Park Slope (preferably south PS) where you can consistently get a decent slice or pie? Thanks.

Also, has anyone ever been to Cornbread Cafe?

1) I think there is no decent place in Park Slope to get pizza, unfortunately.

2) Cornbread Cafe, although a lovely idea, is not very good. The food is extremely greasy.

It's not bad--I've never disliked anything there, and I've had pulled pork, catfish, salmon, greens, etc. My complaint is that the interior is drab and the mood subdued, if not grim. I think the place would be more fun--more of a destination--if it were less like an anonymous roadside family restaurant. Here's a rare case where more hubbub--more noise--would make the food taste better.

well then maybe I'll venture in again. I went about 4 years ago when it first opened and wasn't too impressed, but places can always get better. Thanks for the recommendation :-)

There may not be any good places anymore but I remember the place on 7th across from PS 321... I used to get great slices there after school... back when a slice was 25 cents and a pie was $1.50... and the hot dog guy on the corner charged 15 cents for one with the works.

I like the pizza at Lento's. It's thin and crispy. Plus I like the ambiance of the place-- high booths, a sassy waiter/waitress... reminds me of someplace in the Midwest or small-town America.

By the way, why did you do a duet with Kid Rock on your new album? :)
