Had a great Argentine pizza the other day

I have posted about Don Chicho's at the corner of Junction blvd. and Corona Ave. in Elmhurst before, but have never went into detail about the pizza. The place faces La escuina Criolla which I have seen mentioned on Chowhound before.

We had a jamon y morones pizza there the other day. It had roasted red peppers, ham, a few green olves, an dwhat seems to be either fresh (or just good) mozzarrela. Their pizza has a deeper crust. I have seen people eating other pizzas there including one with slices tomato. They also have fugazza (sp?)(same crust with onions but no cheese or sauce) and fugazetta (sp?)(fugaza w/cheese.) They sell all of this buy the slice, but it will of course be better by the pie.

The place has wine (which I often see accomanied with old fashioned seltzer bottles), and a full oine of Argentine cooking including steaks, emapanadas, pasta etc... It is basically a small cafe with maybe 10 tables.

The waitress that I often get doesn't speak English, but the Waiter I had the other night does.

If you ever see tarrantela there (layers of flan and apples) grab it, since it is delicious and they rarely have it. The last time I saw it, I counted teh pieces,a dn the number of people staring at the case, and ordered mine before I finished eating.
