Korean Markets (and Eateries) in Flushing?

marionr Apr 9, 2001 01:50 PM

I'm developing a story idea for a project, but I don't know where to begin. I pitched "Korean Food in New York" and the execs liked the idea; I now have to find some ways to flesh it out... and I'm somewhat Queens ignorant so addresses are helpful.

I haven't been out to Flushing in ages--does anyone have recommendations for:
* Korean food markets (and restaurants) in Flushing?
* What are the streets of the Korean section of Flushing?
* Is there another heavily-Korean neighborhood in Queens that I don't know about? (Sunnyside?) Where exactly is that?

Any advice is welcome. Thanks.

Try searching on words like "Kum Gang San" and "Banny". Much has been written in the past on these places.
A search is a good place to start for finding info like what you're looking for....

Of course I tried searching the site first (I am a reasearcher after all). Much of the information about Korean food is 3 and a half years old. That;s why I put out an APB.

The largest Korean market is just west of the intersection of Roosevelt Ave and College Point Ave. It has ample parking in case you're autoing. There is also one on the north side of Northern Blvd about a mile or so east of Main Street. Hope this helps.
