Fish and Chips on 5th Avenue?

On my way to Western Beef Butchers, I noticed a storedront (across from Coco Roco) that is soon to be an "authentic" fish and chips place. The sign in the window says that we in Brooklyn have no such place and this will be the first. I like "authentic" fish and chips...maybe this will be good! They were at the floor sanding stage of renovation so I say another couple of weeks.

What's going on? Tea & Sympathy opens A Salt & Battery, a fish and chips place next door. Then a former chef of Tea & Sympathy opens a fish and chips place in Brooklyn, claiming to be the only genuine article in the City.

The owner is actually a Brit. I heard that the chef is French trained and used to cook at "Tea and Sympathy". They want to better the reputation of English food here. For a preview of the menu and other info about the restaurant go to:
