South Slope Pattiserie: Delice de Paris- 9th St

Amazing. On 9th Street between 5th and 6th Aves, there is now a bona fide pattiserie. It has the classic French breakfast pastries (and afew non-french standards, like sticky buns and open fruit danish). And there are french dessert pasties of various sizes, fruit strips and various chocolate concoctions. Those I have sampled have been a step behind Marquette, but the store is many steps closer. I hope they prosper.
thanks so much for alerting us to Delices de Paris. Went there on wednesday, got bread, croissants and some boudin (!). bread was ok, boudin was delish fried, and croissants amazingly good. I thought they looked a bit large, heavy and uniform until the next morning, when I thought "Oh dear, a whole day to get stale in, they'll be ruined." Heated one up in toaster oven. DELICIOUS. Flaky but solid, buttery, generally excellent. hope this place prospers.
