Cornel's Garden in Sunnyside

Cornel's Garden on Skillman St. in Sunnyside was closed for some days a few weeks ago. When it opened again, I went in for one of their soups and was told that, although I could pay the old price, there was a new price for the future, which to my calculations, was close to 100% higher. I have not eaten a full meal there in a while, but based on this experience, presume that they have made some renovations and pushed the prices considerably higher.

Has anyone eaten there recently? I wonder if the higher prices (presumably) and the smoke-filled space is now worth the trouble (and the expense). Some people love lots of smoke for the atmosphere, but for me it really detracts and hampers full enjoyment of the eating experience.
