I just moved my office to Richmond Hill ( Jamaica Ave and Lefferts Blvd area ). I need to know a few good places to eat lunch in the area. I am willing to try just about anything. Any suggestions??

There used to be a Lithuanian restaurant called Baltija that was on 114th St and 86th Ave. I remember it as being simple, hearty fare. We haven't been back in about 8 years, however, so I'm not sure if it's still there (we just don't live nearby, it's not that it wasn't worth another trip!)

Excellent Indian (Punjabi) can be had on the corner of Lefferts & Atlantic Ave., a mostly Punjabi Sikh neighborhood. There were two places there, but one recently closed down due to a fire (talk about spicy hot, eh?).

The one with the fire, Punjabi Kebab House, was take out, earning a well-deserved minus ten on decor, but the food was inexpensively abundant, very fresh, and very tasty. You can see into the kitchen as they cook while you wait. I think they intend to reopen. The remaining restaurant, whose name I can't recall (Windows on India, maybe?), looks much nicer in an odd sort of way, and the food is equally as good.

Despite the decor and location, the food at either of these two places easily rivals the best of Jackson Heights. I think they both deliver as well.
