I have a wedding coming up and I need a WONDERFUL caterer....now the site has given me a list of approved caterers but, I need one that can do dim sum and californian cocktail party. I have no idea about any caterer in the Bay so, can anyone give me some feedback on....

We came very close to using Now We're Cooking for our wedding last fall, mostly because we loved their coordinator, Natasha. Their food was very good, but we decided ultimately to go with someone who is more of a private chef, rather than a full-scale caterer. All the caterers can do California cocktail party food, but my experience with catered dim sum is that they subcontract with, usually, Yank Sing. So, ask about that: your choices may all be getting the dim sum from the same place.

i know this is an old post but i just went to a wedding reception last fall catered by paula le duc at the MOMA. they had a sushi bar with experienced chefs which was sub contracted but that was it. everything else including the "raw bar" on a spectacular ice table (shucked oysters, crab cocktails, shrimp), a dim sum section and the grilled food section that had rack of lamb was NOT subcontracted but was made by the paula le duc kitchen staff on-site. the food was phenomenal but i can only imagine the price was astronomical.

I can recommend Debbie does Dinner - they have a website.

I did not hire them but attended a reception last summer they catered and it was the best, most varied catered food I have ever had. It was so plentiful and yummy that people got doggie bags to take home.
