Had The porterhouse (48 oz.) for 2 ($44) last week
at Christo's with the Shrimp wrapped in bacon.
I love this place. the waiters need a little
sensitivity training but who cares.
2 new places in Little Neck - Nelson's Chicken -
the owner last worked at Le Cote Basque as a sous
chef.
The whole chicken with 2 large sides , 2 sodas and
2 salads for 12.95 is probably the best inexpensive
chowing to come around the pike this year.
A new greek seafood place just opened this week ,
also on Northern Blvd, called Kalyva, didn't eat
there but did take a menu and had a nice talk with
the owner- will update that one.
Tonight was hts. The tandoori chicken was
unbelievable! also liked the fact that they serve
the salad here in a separate bowl which leaves room
for a little extra basmati rice. the chowhounds in
training and Mrs.K had the lamb steak. Also got
pistachio ice cream sticks from a street vendor on
37th Ave. who told me he had only been in the
country for 8 days. The streets were electric!
Picked up some cilantro chutney too.
Regards, JK

  1. A little technical difficulty with that last
message. The tandoori was at The Afghan Kebab
    House in Jackson Heights.
