On the corner of 25th Ave. is a Greek bar called Monte Cristo, where the bartentender, though initially rather gruff, turned out to be quite friendly and talked with us for about half an hour about his home in Greece. And across the street is an Irish pub (I think it's called Farell's), where we drank Guinness and shot a game of pool on their undersized table -- I was actually able to sink a couple of balls! (When we left Farell's a table was free at KC; dinner, shellfish stew, was outstanding.)
