The Absolute Best Chinese Food in Brooklyn

  • r

The absolute best Chinese food in Brooklyn has to be Ocean Palace. They have two restaurants. One is on Avenue U and E15th Street and the other is in Bay Ridge on 55th Street and 8th Avenue. Both places are very difficult to get into on Friday and Saturday nights but believe me, its worth the wait, however long it may be. You will not be disappointed!

Dim Sum on the weekends at the Bay Ridge location is
also very good -- probably the best in Brooklyn.

If you're asking where the other location of Ocean Palace is, it's on Avenue U and E. 15th Street. Right across the street from the old Republic Bank that they've torn down.

I found a site called that has a section concerning many cultures including our interests. It's a fun site and definitely worth checking out!

hmmm...I've been there and I WAS disappointed. That said, it IS one of the best places in Sunset Park chinatown. But Flushing and Manhattan are zillions of times better...

Ocean Palace has a major reputation; but on the Avenue
U strip of "wannabe" Chinatown eateries, it ranks near
          the bottom.

Which places do you like on Avenue U?

Can this really mean that you guys don't like Ocean Palace? Say it isn't so!!!!!!!

I vote for Chinese Ocean,(5826 8th Ave.). The squid is
exquisite, the steamed shrimp impeccable and they have
some interesting exotica like salt and pepper veal
chops, casseroles not found anyplace else and much

I haven't been there but if anyone would be generous
enough to pay to fly me over from Australia and have
me as a lunch partner I am sure I would love it
