Pollo a la Brasa

Yesterday I went to a Colombian restaurant in Jackson
Hts, called Listo (86th and 37th). Boy was their
chicken ever good! So I'm wondering...I've been to
about ten Colombian places in the neighborhood, but I
haven't really gone often enough to start telling the
difference between them.

Does anyone on the list have favorites? And could you
talk a bit about why you prefer them?

OK, made my first definite comparison: Listo's chicken
is better than Pollos a la Brasa Mario on 37th and
82nd. Listo's is more tender and flavorful.

      The search continues...
On Saturday we went to Natives (on Northern Blvd and
81st or 82nd St). We weren't very hungry (big buffet
lunch at Arunee Thai) so we shared a grilled chicken
platter. Well, Natives is not the place to go for
chicken -- it was overdone and too dry, although it did
have a nice smoky flavor. But for starches, this place
rocks! They served the best green plantains I've ever
      eaten, and excellent french-fried yuca.

And the big plus for Natives is that we could bring our
dog! They have sliding glass doors along the front of
the restaurant, so we could sit at a table in front
with Lola sitting just outside the door which was
slightly open. She's the biggest chowhound in our
      family!
