A few months back Channel 13 showed a Molly O'Neill
program that mentioned a long established beer garden
and Bavarian restaurant on Staten Island. Anyone know
the name and address?
Also, there is a small walled-in beer garden around
the block from Elia's Corner in Astoria. It is attached
to a small bar that appears to cater to either Czechs
or Poles. Anyone been there?

I believe that you're referring to Killmeyers(sic?) I don't know the address, but I'm sure you can look it up in one of the local beer rags. Or try calling Adobe Blues-I think that there's some sort of common ownership.

Kellmeyers' is on the corner of Arthurkill Road and
Sharrotts Ave. It's an excellent place. I took a friend
of mine who travels to Germany quiet often and he gave
it high marks.

Tommers Beer

I am trying to find its history - brewing locations,

(S I , Brooklynb , etc ),years, type of beer (malt,

pilsner etc) , bottles ,cans etc . Any information will

help. Is it still being made ?

Thank you Frank Smith

The Astoria one you're referring to near Elias Corner is the Bohemian Hall. It's actually not small at all, and holds dozens and dozens of picnic tables, around which sit some of the most pleasantly sated people in all the 5 boroughs. Definitely one of those rare and lovely places that can make you forget you live in New York.

Side note--I hear a rumor that they weren't letting anyone under the age of 25 in anymore. Is this true? The only response I've heard to this thus far from people I've asked has been--Wow! Yay! but no actual information.
