Kalyustan on Lexington Avenue has preserved (candied)citron.

I just ordered candied citron from them and was a really bad quality, I was so excited to find it the way I wanted, candied citron halves , but had no flavor and no perfume quality at all, still trying to find the right thing...

      Any idea??, where??

It's way out of season, so you may have a hard time finding it. But I usually see a few in Fairway (you have to look under the main food stands - with the boxes and crates and such (try that middle produce aisle inside). Usually Whole Foods has them as well. The one you're most likely to find is Buddha's Hand Citron.

By fresh, do you mean candied? I think Di Palo's has it.

I've never heard of fresh citron peel being used in baking, and I've also never seen it for sale, except etrog, in heavily orthodox Jewish neighborhoods shortly before Sukkoth... Yuzu is a Japanese sort of citron but it's not in season right now and anyway, has a much thinner rind than the European sorts, unsuited to candying or otherwise using as anything but a garnish/flavoring.

If you do find a source, though, please post!
