Had two morel dishes at Tribeca Grill last Saturday, and both were excellent.

Appetizer: Morel soup with foie-gras stuffed morel. As rich and decadent as it sounds, it was the pure essence of morels.

Main dish: Grilled Atlantic salmon with morels, ramps & English peas. The morels weren't the star here, but were a solid accompaniment to the rest of the dish, which was excellent.

Have to say - after having been several times to Tribeca Grill over the past few months, I feel it is highly under-rated among foodies...

I would call a couple of the obvious suspects and ask. As of last Friday, Hearth had them on the menu (accompanying the slow cooked egg) but they hardly tasted like anything, and I found out that they were imported from out of the country. As late as last week, the people at Applewood couldn't find them locally, so they might be late this year.
