Fiddlehead Ferns?

I posted this on the general topics bord, but maybe it belongs here. Fiddlehead fern season is coming - where can I get them fresh in NYC? I hope the answer is not "Trader Joe's." Those lines are so long that the season will be over before I get into the store!

Try the Union Square Greenmarket. Also try the Manhattan Fruit Exchange in Chelsea market.

I bought them both places. Pick up some ramps, too - they go great together.

I never had ramps, Lambretta - are they in season at the same (short) time Fiddleheads are, and can I get them at the same places?
