HELP! Need savvy snack-like recs
Am going on a day long jaunt to find the most interesting and tasty snacks, desserts, drinks, etc. next Monday. I am going with a sophisticated restaurant owner who has seen most all of it. Would like recs on interesting places to go. Examples might be; the sticky bun at BOUCHON or the Dosa-Cart guy on Sullivan. Also, where is the green sandwich place in Chinatown? We are taking a car service so far corners of Manhattan are OK.

Where is Bouchon, and are their sticky buns really that good?

Bouchon Bakery is in the Time Wrner building. Went for the first time today and had an amazing caramel macroon. Have not tried the sticky buns-sorry

How about Blue Ribbon Bakery Shop for their open faced thick bread 'sandwiches'...esp one with duck breast or pate.

I visit NYC 3-4x a year and my trips are all about houndish foods.
I recommend the following:
Dumpling House (excellent fried/steamed meat/veggie dumplings and more!, 5 for a dollar)
118 Eldridge/Lower East Side
Pomme Frites (excellent Belgium fries with about a zillion varieties of dipping sauces)
123 2nd Avenue
