We're a young foodie couple looking for a quiet romantic meal for this weekend that costs at most $50 pp including dessert but excluding alcohol. Our favorite restaurants in NYC so far are Union Square Cafe, Otto, New Yeah Shanghai Deluxe, and Trattoria Alba. I adore desserts and my partner doesn't like Parisian food, only rustic French, but apart from that we're looking to find a new special place.

Any suggestions welcome and thanks!

In my research, I've found Ouest, Craft, and Hearth to be appealing options. One of these days we'll have the bucks to go to Le Bernadin, but until then, what are some decent mid-priced alternatives?
