Searching for Manhattan's best Cobb Salad

Keith Feb 19, 2006 12:06 PM

For some reason today, I woke up with a craving for Cobb Salad. Anywhere that does this simple dish especially well? Interesting variations like Duck Cobb Salad or Lobster Cobb salad?

I can not say this is the best, but they do quite a good Cobb salad at Knickerbockers on University and 8th Street. I love a good Cobb salad, so I will be looking to see if anyone has any other nyc favorites. . . .

Mayrose, near flatiron, does a really good classic one.

For lobster, Redeye Grill on Seventh Avenue in the 50s. I like their cobb salads generally, but they are heartily priced - $22, add lobster $35.

The very best Cobb Salad in NY can be found at Le Pain Quotidien. I've had them at the 72nd Street location when they're listed as specials, but I understand you can order them off the menu at any location, any time.

Don't know about best, but Walkers' in Tribeca does a very good one.

I agree...not sure if it's the best in the city, but it's what keeps me going back to Walker's for brunch.

I loved Punch's cobb salad on broadway and 20th.
