What is Les Deux Gamins?

Everybody here seems to the score on this place, that just replaced Metropol on 4th St at 10th St. So? What's the deal? Is this place related to "Le Gamin"? How's the food? It's not the same chef who was there when it was Metropol, and Le Metarie before that is it? What's best on the menu?

  1. I have not eaten at Les Deux Gamins but from what I understand, it was at another location in the Village, closed there and then moved to this spot after Metropol vacated. I don't think it's related to Le Gamin.

Jimk is right, it was at Christopher (Waverly?)across from the Northern Dispensary.

I had the Merguez Moroccan Sandwich there two weeks ago. It was fine. Wine list is typical bistro, house red (Cote de Rhone)was satisfactory @ ca. $8.00.

      I would go again.

      Enjoy!

It's a reasonably priced good place any time of day. Delicious French toast and almond croissants, big bowl of cafe au lait.

    2. this place really sucks -- the horrible service effectively ruined a mediocre meal. this is only one out of many of complaints after eating there. if you're looking for decent french food, try gavroche.
