I didn't make it to Cru in time to catch him there, so I'm glad he's back. I went after work tonight, and it's a solid addition to the dessert scene, especially considering it opened yesterday. I had the "voyage", a line-up of the following in this order, right to left: a chocolate parfait on a cookie-like base, sprinkled with curry; mango tapioca; whipped coconut cream (really, not infused whipped cream) with dried coconut cream on top, and a tiny coconut ice cream thing that was the only non-fabulous part, but maybe that represents the end of a great vacation. The contrast, or arc, of the textures and flavors was interesting and it worked. Each dessert has both wine and tea that can be paired, I had a hibiscus-mango tea. I love both Chikalicious and the dessert tasting menu at WD-50. This feels like Chikalicious's weird cousin or WD-50's somewhat more low-key older sister.
