Although I am lukewarm in my feelings toward Sushi Samba itself (I've always found the food to be pretty good but the place to be annoying unless it's with out of towners I want to impress), I LOVE their side dish of Peruvian corn. In case you haven't tried it, you should if you like corn - they are the biggest kernels I have ever had, and pretty juicy and sweet usually (although I'm sure the butter they cook it in helps with the juiciness!).

I want to try to make some myself at home - sometimes I find theirs to be too buttery and I'd like to try roasting it and lightly salting it instead. Any ideas on where I could find some (the big corn that they have that they call "Peruvian corn", not just any ole corn). I live near Union Square, and I know I could try the greenmarket, but I just wanted to see first if anyone has actually seen any anywhere they have shopped.

Thanks for your help!
