Hop Devil Grill on St Mark's has a "Belgian Room" devoted to the stuff. Haven't been in (I use the non-Belgian part of the bar), but they should have an interesting list.

You'd never believe it, but they've got a great beer selection at the little corner deli on the corner of 9th Street and 2nd Ave. Belgians and many others. Looks like a totally run-of-the-mill cornershop until you walk inside.

This city never fails to amaze me.

There's a Belgian Beer Bar on West 4th street, just east of 6th ave on the south side of the street. It's set in from the sidewalk, with a courtyard (great in summer). They serve fries as well! Somewhat full of NYU grad students but could be exactly what you're looking for!

It is called Volde Nuit, tho everyone just calls it the Belgian Beer Bar. If you go at the "right time" -- early afternoon, it is usually fairly empty. It is super cozy and one of my favorite places to hold up on a cool winter day.

I love Belgian Beers almost more than life itself! Volde Nuit is awesome, Hop Devil is good for the draft beers but a little pricey, Markt has a great selection of belgians for suprisingly lower prices than these two bars. It is priarily a restaurant but they have a long wooden bar that you can sit at all night. For home consumption I honestly go to Whole Foods since I am a Leffe Blonde and Delirium Tremmons fan--I have never been able to find Leffe Brun (which is my favorite) in a store. If anyone has please let me know. Have fun trying all these places!

Markt. Sure, the neighborhood (meatpacking) is trendy/annoying. But their on-tap selection is fantastic, and the moules frites (there are 6 varieties) are first-rate.

Actually, the best belgian beer selections in NYC are in Williamsburg, Brooklyn -- You should try Mug's Ale House and Spuyten Duyvil both have incredible selections and cozy atmospheres. Best retail stores -- New Beer Distributor on Chrystie Street in the Lower East Side and American Beer Distributors in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn.

Cheers!
