It looks like it may be a while before Little Branch reopens. The landlord is having a dispute with the city about some damages to the building and there is no resolution in sight.

Though I can't imagine how it could beat Milk and Honey, the drinks there are truly the best I've ever had in my life. Maybe Little Branch is on par with Employees Only?

M & H is still great. Pegu Club may be best in the city now. also highly recommend Flatiron Lounge, Bemelman's Bar.

Angel's Share and Temple Bar aren't bad either.

Bemelman's Bar is not nearly on par with the others. In fact, I noticed that their cocktail menu includes a number of drinks I've seen on the menus of the other bars you mention (w/o always giving tribute), however, judging from what I ordered, they turn out an inferior preparation. I ordered their Juniperitivo, made with Junipero gin and pomegranite molasses, and found it to be almost all pomegranate, far too tart, very little discernabel gin, no balance whatsoever, while the Juniperitivo served at the Flatiron Lounge's was a lesson in good drinkmaking.

um, that's cause those drinks originated at the Bemelman's Bar.

Audrey Saunders was the long-time cocktail director at the Bemelman's bar...she consults for Flatiron Lounge (creates many of their drinks) and then opened Pegu Club.

I love Angel's Share's room, (its like Milk and Honey with a big window looking out onto the street), but I don't find the drinks especially exciting. They're definately well made, but not as inventive as Milk and Honey's.

Pegu Club seems a little too tie and jacket for me, although i can be totally wrong, but thats just my impression.
