Where can I have nice holiday dinner with parents, with nice decorations and good food, was thinking Danube or GT, but a smaller lesser known spot would be good too.

In the category of smaller, upscale restaurants, my favorites are Cafe Boulud, Fleur de Sel, Veritas, and Tocqueville. Of course, they are hardly unknown. However, a wonderful restaurant that tends to remain under the radar is Mark's at The Mark Hotel. We've dined there once, thoroughly enjoyed it, but have not had a chance to go back. The food was delicious, service was of mandarin quality, and the small dining room was quite elegant.
