Best Venison in New York at a Restaurant

Joe Z Nov 1, 2005 06:55 AM

Any suggestions of where I may find the best venision at a restaurant in New York? My uncle is coming in town and he loves it, I scored once at L'Impero and would like to duplicate the effort. Any suggestions by fellow chowhouders would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance for any help provided.

The venison and other game like wild boar ragu, Elk, wild game paté at HENRY'S END in Brooklyn Heights are excellent and worth the trip over the Bridge.

They feature a game menu in the Fall..right now. The Turtle Soup is heavenly.

A very different kind of place than the other options posted thus far....Casa Mono. My friend and I shared a wonderful venison dish there a couple of weeks ago.

I was recently @ Alto, same chef as L'Impero and the venison was the highlight of the meal. I've attached my review so you can see the details. Great stuff!!!

Eleven Madison Park has an excellent venison and is comparable to L'Impero I think.

                  THANKS EVERYONE!

I think I will go with one of the restaurants mentioned in Midtown as that is where he is staying so it will be easy for him to get to.

                  THANKS AGAIN!
