Payard Patisserie? It's wonderful. Great atmosphere, like an old Viennese cafe. Lunch is very good, and of course, the desserts are outstanding.

I love Payard. Not only are Francois' pastries (in summer, try the Michigan Cherry Tart) and chocolates to die for, but the food is delightful bistro style French cuisine. A memorable meal there included baby brussels sprouts and they were outstanding.

I haven't been there in a while, but when I was living in the city used to go there quite a bit. I love the place. Obviously, the pastries are to die for but their actual meals are quite wonderful as well. The atmosphere really has an authentic feel to it. Can't find anything like it in NJ where I live now - boy I miss living here!

You know, yes, it's nice inside. But quite frankly I don't think the pastries are that special. I had a chocolate-filled eclair once, and I SWEAR the filling was jello chocolate pudding. I mean, it probably wasn't, but it tasted exactly like it.
