Help! I've lost Roya Afghan/Walnut Creek
Roya Afghan is no longer at North Main and Bonanza. When we ate there in December they told us they were losing their lease and were going to move but didn't know where. Their website and directory assistance still list the old address and old phone number. I hope they've moved and not gone out of business. Does anyone know?

OK, it's 7/2008 and I still miss Café Roya in Walnut Creek. Specifically, the lawang and the chicken kabob's. Does anyone know if they re-opened somewhere in the bay area, possibly with a different name? I have not found another restaurant that serves lawang.
If the owner of Café Roya reads this, please let me know where your restaurant is, if indeed you re-opened.›4 Replies-
re: MSH
What is lawang? Google seems to think it's a Malaysian dish.
Have you tried the other Afghan places in the area?

Do you mean lagman? Chopan in Concord served this dish when it was still an Uzbek place some years ago. Don't know what's on the menu with the current owner. You might also try the knife-shaved noodles served at Fatima or Darda, which have some Uighur dishes.
