<content>I'm sampling my first Molly's burger tomorrow night -- any special toppings I can't miss? Are other nearby burger places far superior? I'm trying to slowly address Time Out's top burger list from this past winter.
Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks</content>

<content>Not necessarily superior, but Waterfront Ale House in the area has a similar burger that is also very good.

Of course, the Shake Shack is also nearby.</content>

<content>lol -- i was just thinkin about turning off the computer and heading over there before they get crowded!

here's a few that stood out on the website imo, looks like they had an allagash festival recently:

Allagash Curieux
Heavyweight Gruit Ale
Allagash White
Sierra Porter
Allagash Tripel
Allagash Grand Cru (vintage)
Sierra Rauch

ps -- dont get me wrong, i love my guinness. but i like murphy's stout better it seems a bit drier. anyplace you know has it on tap (the only other place i know of in manhattan is JEREMYS ALE HOUSE)?

<content>blind tiger is one of my favorite places in the city. you can linger over your beer all afternoon. happy hour runs from 12-8, with $1 off all pints. there's nothing like a liquid lunch :)

during the week, you find a lot of regulars. i love cheese on wednesdays, and when they have special events on those wednesdays, it's even better. some of my friends complain that they find the place too dark, but i don't mind it. their beer selection changes all the time, with a few mainstays, i think like guinness, brooklyn lager, etc. there's no food served there (they have bar snacks for sale) but i've seen people bring food in.

on the weekend, it gets way too, sorry for the slang, B&amp;T. however, sat and sun afternoons have free bagels! mmmmm carbs upon carbs.... :)</content>

<content>wow--i almost fell over when i read that. you're totally right: from this month's issue of the gotham imbiber:

"I have to start this column with some news that is poised to be a potentially big blow to New York City&#8217;s craft beer scene. Please sit down if you&#8217;re not already doing so. News has reached me that The Blind Tiger Ale House (518 Hudson Street, Manhattan) is likely to lose its lease later this year, and will consequently have to close. Already the upper floors of the building have been gutted, and the bar is marooned inside a jungle of scaffolding. However, the dedicated people behind this awesome beer bar are already looking for another location in the vicinity to start a new, apparently larger, version of the revered Tiger &#8211; The Gotham Imbiber sincerely hopes the flow of quality beers will continue in the West Village once a new location is found. Meanwhile, make the best of the Tiger&#8217;s remaining days while you have the chance &#8211; she&#8217;s not quite dead yet."</content>

yup, that's the story we got from employees.

not sure how soon, or even if they will re-open though.

As a JC resident, was the perfect "last stop" before hitting the PATH to get home... horrible news...
