Hi there, I'm a Texan expat looking for any place that sells elgin sausage up here. Figured I'd check here before I had it shipped from the one true mecca of 'hot guts'.

I've tried the sausage at a number of local barbecue spots, and found nothing that reminds me of Elgin. I mean in style, not just quality -- something closer to kielbasa seems to be par for the course around here. I could go for some of that greasy Southside hot-gut right about now.

I'm not sure if it is anything close, but Pearson's has a Texas Link that I used to get to go from their old Queens branch that I remember loving -- the type of thing that you keep in your fridge for the weekend, but it's gone by Saturday morning.
